Shri Angareshwar Mahadev is the son of the earth, Mangal, the 43rd Mahadev among the ancient 84 Mahadevs of Avantika city. Shri Angareshwar Mahadev is situated on the banks of Shipra, in front of Siddhavat (Vat Vriksha), also known as Mangal Dev (star). It is believed that the person visiting this Mahaling Shri Angareshwar every day will never have to take birth again. There is no doubt that the one who will worship this Linga on Tuesday will be fulfilled in this era.
Shri Prashant Vyas ji is a dedicated priest at the Angareshwar Mahadev Temple and Mangalnath Temple in Ujjain. His profound knowledge of Vedas, Upanishads, and scriptures related to Lord Mangal has made him an expert in the worship of Lord Mangal. His years of experience and strict adherence to traditional rituals and mantras ensure that every ritual performed by him is fruitful..
According to Matsya Purana, Mangalnath is considered to be the birthplace of Mangal. It is said that a demon named Andhakasur had received a boon from Lord Shiva that hundreds of demons would be born from the drops of his blood. Due to this boon, Andhakasur started creating havoc on the earth. On this, everyone prayed to Lord Shiva. They decided to fight with Andhakasur to free everyone from his atrocities. A fierce battle took place between the two. In this battle, Lord Shiva started sweating and the earth cracked due to the heat and Mangal was born from it. This newly born Mangal absorbed the drops of blood produced from the demon's body. For this reason, the colour of Mangal is considered to be red.
